Ammeon has been selected by the UK Cabinet Office to carry out a feasibility study into mobile phone based public alert systems. The objective of the study is to understand the technical implications and likely benefits of deploying Cell Broadcast in the UK to communicate with the public during a crisis situation. The study will include an assessment of the level of support for Cell Broadcast in commonly deployed handsets, and make comparisons with Short Message Service based solutions.
